CRC 1266 - Scales of Transformation

Subproject Ö: Science Communication and Public Outreach

Mediation and communication of “Scales of Transformation”

Science communication in CRC 1266 serves as a link between science and the public and aims at communicating the research results on transformations of past human-environment interactions and the lessons learned to the general public. The aspect of change and human-environment interactions are major thematic foci that are gaining increasing attention in current public discourses.

The communication of the knowledge and messages of the CRC 1266 takes place within the framework of various established formats and the development of innovative concepts.

The core project of subproject Ö is the digital exhibition on “Scales of Transformation” which aims to enable visitors to experience the great transformations of past times and the lifeworlds of prehistoric and archaic societies. In addition, it is intended to explore new ways of presenting cultural history and to serve the communication of knowledge and the source-critical handling of the various archaeological and paleoecological sources.
